Why I got into photography⁠
⁠
I was lucky enough to know great, great grandparents, and they had photo albums on their coffee tables. I used to love looking through them and seeing them when they were young, which usually sparked a story or two about that day or that time in their lives. ⁠
⁠
I loved learning about them and where I came from; maybe I was like them, and I felt like I belonged.⁠
⁠
That's what got me taking photos, whether it was Polaroid, film, or digital, I was taking photos so I could remember the stories that meant something to me, and I could tell them when I was old and gray. Remember the fun times and the people I spent my time with.⁠

And that's what drives me to photograph families today. I hope you print your images that have them around the house and tell stories about the dinosaur you had to carry with you everywhere, even in your family portraits, and no longer have because you loved something new. Or sweet moments of your little one needing your hug for comfort that they don't need the same anymore as they grow up.⁠

1. Posing Yourself- I will guide you into every pose/scenario so that you won't more, "I don't know what to do with my hands." 🤷🏽‍♀️ #rickybobby⁠

2. Bad Weather- Unfortunately, I have no control over what the weather will do, but I will keep an eye out for what the forecast will be during our session. We can have a backup in case the weather is unshootable. ⁠

3. Your Kids Misbehaving- I have seen it all, and I am here to tell you I have tricks to help, sometimes they work and sometimes they don't, and it's OK! I will walk you through options so you can feel more at ease during the session. ⁠

4. Overthinking What To Wear- I hear this so much, and not only send you a style guide, but I will be there to guide you, so you can send me your outfit ideas, and I'll be happy to help. ⁠

5. Feeling Awkward- I know the feeling, and here is the funny thing. It can make you laugh and give real smiles, but I will help you feel relaxed with direction.⁠

Everyone mentions number 4 in particular!

1. Communication is key. If we are not on the same page then expectations are way off. I make sure we are on the same page by scheduling a phone consultation that includes a questionnaire so we can have those answers ready for the call. This is where you tell me your concerns and ask questions. I will walk you through the next steps.

2- I have put together a style guide to help dos and don’ts with clothing store options. You can even text me your outfit choices for further help so you look and feel your best 😊

3- Many clients have said the booking which includes day, time, signing the contract and make their deposit has been easy. It’s all in one place and will receive email reminders important dates.

4- I think it’s the most important as well. when my clients tell me they are worried about their kids behavior before the session and tell me afterward how happy they were with my patience I know I’ve done my job at setting them at easy.

Living in SoCal we can go to the beach any time. This beach gives you multiple opens from trees and grass to cliffs and walking along sand. The waves are calmer and gives you great sunsets!

Prefect for families who don’t mind the water, sand and wind in their hair!

2- Katie Wheeler Library

The library has great rustic buildings and citrus groves to explore and interact with. From metal sheds and barns to white homes and green lawns.

Perfect for a rustic barn session.

3-Quail Hill

This trail is great all year but will look different. During the spring it’s green and with flowers and the rest of the year it’s dry grass.

Perfect for families who are good with a little bit of walking and with hills in the background.

4-Jeffery Open Space

This park has great mix of everything. Trees, trails, tunnels and open spaces and bike trails.

Perfect for families who want easy access and walk ability with a mix of plant life and urban sets to explore.
